I am a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO), with 25+ years of experience providing psychotherapy treatment to clients of all ages with Mood Disorders, addiction concerns, parenting issues, complex trauma, interpersonal dysfunction and challenges with emotional regulation.
I have an Honours Bachelor’s degree from York University, Toronto; a Master of Arts in Clinical Counselling from Drexel University, Philadelphia; and a Graduate Certificate in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Guelph. I also have specialized training from the Play Therapy Institute in New Jersey and ongoing education in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy,, Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Therapeutic Mindfulness.
I have been employed as a full time Mental Health Clinician at Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH - Queen Street). I also owned and operated a successful private practice for 14 years, where I was an approved provider for various Children’s Aid Societies, Veterans Affairs Canada, RCMP and Durham Region’s Victim Services.
As a Mental Health Therapist, I have witnessed the extreme challenges that many families experienced during the COVID pandemic. In response, I have integrated my training and experience, with the most recent scientific research on Neuropsychology and resilience, to develop interactive and informative community workshops. Participants will engage in group discussions and experiential activities, to learn and practice techniques which promote positive mental health and wellness.
